Dec 22, 2018 | 7:00 AM

LETHBRIDGE –  Garbage collection dates, transit service, and shelter hours are among some of the services that will see some changes over the next week or so.

According to the City of Lethbridge, if your garbage collection day is normally on Tuesdays, it will occur on Monday, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.

The Waste and Recycling Centre will be closed Christmas Day and on New Year’s Day as well.

Those who rely on transit and Access-a-Ride will also notice some changes, including no service Dec. 25 and buses only running from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24.

Dec. 31, buses will run from 6:45 a.m until 12 a.m. while Jan.1 transit will follow the Sunday/holiday schedule from 8 a.m.- 7 p.m.

Of note, from Dec. 24 to Jan. 8, routes 12 and 32 will run every 30 minutes instead of every 15 minutes.

And Access-a-Ride will run, but with priority given to those needing dialysis. On Dec. 25, early booking is available to wheelchair clients or ambulatory clients may book rides as well, subject to availability.

The Lethbridge Animal Shelter will be open regular hours on Sat. Dec. 22 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., but will be closed from Sun. Dec. 23 to Wed. Dec. 26. It will reopen Thurs. Dec. 27. It will also be closed Jan. 1, but will reopen Jan. 2, 2019.
