Man charged by police for discharging pellet gun outside SCS

LETHBRIDGE – A 22-year-old local man has been charged by Lethbridge Police in connection with an incident where a pellet gun was discharged at the Supervised Consumption Site.

According to police, on Sunday, Jan. 6 at 6:18 p.m. officers responded to a report that a man had produced a handgun and fired it outside the west doors of the Supervised Consumption Site along the 1000 block of 1 Avenue South. 

Witnesses provided a description of the suspect and upon arrival, he was located by police attempting to hide amongst a group of people. No one was injured, and the man was arrested without further incident. 

During a search incidental to arrest, police seized a loaded pellet gun that closely resembled a handgun along with a small quantity of methamphetamine.

Joshua Emmanual Hairy Bull, of Lethbridge, is facing charges of carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public, possession of a controlled substance and breach of an undertaking.

Hairy Bull is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
