Long Track Skating Season kicks off for Lethbridge Speed Skaters

LETHBRIDGE – Eleven skaters from the Lethbridge Speed Skating Association recently competed at the Alberta Long Track Championships held in Calgary on Jan. 12 and 13, with some solid results.

Over 200 skaters from Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Montana competed at the event.

The meet was the first long-track competition of the season for the Lethbridge skaters.

All skaters achieved personal best times in many of their races, and the results for Lethbridge Speed Skating members are listed below:

Division 1:

Zak Adelman – 9th

Division 3:

Zoe Wesseling – 10th

Zosia Adelman – 15th

T2T 11/12 Girls:

Mikka Eaves – 9th

Zoe Wesseling – 29th

T2T 12/13 Boys:

Braeden Kremenik – 16th

Riley Vanderburgh – 20th

Jonathan McIntosh – 22nd

Carson Love – 25th

Mitchell Wesseling – 29th

Open:

Jeff Peach – 16th in 500m

                  – 19th in 1000m
