Lethbridge man charged with possession of carfentanil, stolen property

LETHBRIDGE- A 37-year-old man with outstanding warrants has been charged with numerous offences in relation to illicit drugs and stolen property.
 
Lethbridge Police say on Jan. 12, a member of the Downtown Policing Unit was on bike patrol and saw the man riding a BMX bike in the 900 blk of 2 Ave S.  
 
Police caught up to the man, arrested and searched him. They found carfentanil, pepper spray and merchandise from Park Place Mall with the tags still on it.
 
Police say the bike the man was riding had been stolen, along with a ring he was wearing.
 
Corey Bruce Hagen has been charged with numerous offences including possession of carfentanil for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime under $5,000, carrying a concealed weapon, breach of recognizance and three counts of stolen property under $5,000.
 
He has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court Jan. 18.
