Thank you, Southern Alberta – Care from the Heart Radio-a-thon surpasses goal

LETHBRIDGE — The final tally is not official, as all donations have not been counted but, as of 10:00-pm Thursday night, the 2019 Care from the Heart Radio-a-thon had surpassed its goal of $230,000 by more than $5.000.

Among the major contributors were Lethbridge Costco ($76,662.88), Balog Auctions ($49,416.42), Tim Horton’s ($18.033) and Shopper’s Drug Mart ($14,164).

In the past nine years, the Care from the Heart Radio-a-thon has raised $1,960,000 for a multitude of hospital needs, such as state-of-the-art healthcare equipment, various programs and special projects. 

Donations during this tenth annual event, puts total Radio-a-thon donations over the past decade at just under $2,200,000.

The money received this year, will be used to further support the redevelopment of the Chinook Regional Hospital’s Mental Heath facility.

Much goes out to the businesses, families and individuals who donated.  Also, a significant ‘Thank You’ to the six Lethbridge radio stations (Country-95 and B-93, 94.1 CJOC, 106.7 Rock, Kiss 107.7 and 98.1 The Bridge) which donated air time for live broadcasts from the Chinook Regional Hospital, highlighting the work of the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation (CRHF).
