Stars Lottery Scam makes the rounds in the Crowsnest Pass

CROWSNEST PASS —  RCMP have received several complaints of an on-going scam from suspects claiming to be with the Stars Lottery.

The scam asks that individuals send money to an address in Kamloops, British Columbia and has the telephone number 1-514-316-0009 associated with it.

However, the STARS lottery is only conducted in Alberta.

Lottery officials are aware of the scam and are actively pursuing this issue. 

The Crowsnest Pass RCMP ask the public to exercise caution about answering any suspicious phone calls and to avoid providing any personal or banking information over the phone.
