LUNDBRECK, AB – Pincher Emergency Services responded to a small cabin fire Wednesday afternoon.

Deputy Chief Pat Neumann said crews responded to the scene in the hamlet of Lundbreck at around 5:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, they discovered a fire underneath the flooring of a small cabin behind one of the local bars.

“There wasn’t a lot of fire left (when crews arrived), it was just a matter that we get all the extensions and stuff like that, it was in a difficult area. We were there about three hours,” Neumann said on Thursday morning.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire.

“It looks like it was probably related to the cold weather, and maybe related to water lines, but we’re not sure yet.”

Neumann said the official cause of the fire is still under investigation.
