Alberta breaks medal record on penultimate day of 2019 Games
RED DEER — Team Alberta has officially had its most successful Canada Winter Games in history.
With five medals on Friday, Alberta surpassed its personal all-time mark of 91 medals, which was set at the 2003 Games in Bathurst-Campbellton, New Brunswick.
Alberta sat at 93 heading into the final day of competition Saturday, including 34 gold 32 silver, and 27 bronze.
The 34 golds are also a new record for Team Alberta, the previous high being 31 set at the Grande Prairie 1995 Games.
