LETHBRIDGE - Hurricanes forward Jordy Bellerive has been named the WHL "On the Run" player of the week.

Bellerive, who is also a Pittsburgh Penguins prospect, recorded seven points in three games, while helping to extend the 'Canes season-high winning streak to six games.

The 5-foot-11, 194-pound centre was selected second overall at the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

He now has 81 points in 66 games and is in 11th place in the WHL scoring this season. So far in the 2018-19 regular season, Bellerive has totalled eight power-play goals, one short-handed goal and four game-winning goals.

Last week, 'Canes forward Jake Elmer was also named the player of the week.

The team's next game takes place on the road against the Red Deer Rebels Friday, March 15 at 7:00 p.m.
