Taber resident wins Lethbridge show home as STARS Lottery announces 2019 winners

Apr 10, 2019 | 2:23 PM

LETHBRIDGE – If you bought a Stars Lottery ticket or tickets this year, and you’re from Lethbridge, you did not win any of the grand prizes.

However, plenty of Lethbridge and surrounding area residents DID win any number of other prizes, including $1,000, luggage, smokers, Apple TVs or even $100.

One lucky resident from Taber, Daylen Welsh, did win the retro-themed Lethbridge show home. The Calgary home goes to Pat Bolin of Stettler, while the Edmonton show home was won by Dwayne and Elizabeth Cappelle from Cochrane.

Other grand prizes included luxury cars, trucks, vacations, and $10,000 cash.

The annual lottery is the largest single fundraiser for STARS, providing about $11 million in net funding for the life-saving organization.

STARS flies to Chinook Regional Hospital from Calgary about once a week, and in the last year, flew about 150 missions around southern Alberta.
