Government takes action to prevent potential spread of African Swine Fever

Sherbrooke, Quebec -- Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau has announced new funding of up to $31-million to increase the number of detector dogs at Canadian airports to help prevent illegally imported meat products from entering Canada.

As deficit grows, the Federal Budget spends more on a wide variety programs

OTTAWA --  The Federal Budget is expected to sink Canadians deeper into the red this year as the Liberal government plans to spend a windfall of new revenue.

The federal budget predicts a deficit of $19.8 billion for 2019-20, including a $3-billion contingency fund.

LETHBRIDGE -- On the morning of the day Peter (‘Pete’) Craig chose to die, the comings and goings of family and friends warmed his heart and home. They sat with him in his room, reminisced and said their last goodbyes. And, of course, there were tears. Lots of tears.
