LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is asking for the public’s help in locating a woman wanted in connection to a fire.

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) was called to the Holiday Inn on the 2300 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South.

Fire officials say there was a fire in a room on the third floor of the hotel. A woman, who was the lone occupant of the room, was taken to hospital.

The fire was contained to a single room and no one else was injured. However, LPS says a number of hotel occupants were displaced due to smoke and water damage.

According to a news release from LPS, “The building was significantly impacted by the activation of the sprinkler system with damages estimated at approximately $1,000,000. An LFES investigator determined the fire was caused by improper disposal of smoking materials.”

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Kerissa Rikki Tyrell Plume, 33, of Lethbridge. She faces two charges relating to arson as well as additional counts of failing to comply with release order conditions.

Anyone with information on Plume’s whereabouts is asked to call LPS at 403-328-4444 and reference file #23004291.
