Police on scene of high-risk incident in north Lethbridge

UPDATE – May 30, 2023 @ 4:50 P.M.

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) said the public can return to the 600 block of Stafford Drive North and the area of Dave Elton Park.

Officers remain on scene investigating what they say is a high-risk incident.

LPS is thanking residents for their patience and understanding while the incident was underway.

Police say they will not be releasing any further information at this time, but an update is expected on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has taken one male into custody following a high-risk incident at a home along the 600 block of Stafford Drive North.

Police noted that Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services are on-scene extinguishing a fire that was set at the residence.

The public is still being directed to avoid the area.

No public access is permitted and police continue to ask the public to avoid the area,

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Members of the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) are responding to a high-risk incident on the north side of the city.

At around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, police said officers were on scene at a home along the 600 block of Stafford Drive North.

Members of the public are asked to avoid the area. No further information has been released as of this publication. LNN will provide more details when they become available.
