Apr 20, 2016 | 1:12 PM

LETHBRIDGE – Police issued a statement on Wednesday asking for assistance in locating a person of interest in the January 17 homicide of Irene Carter, 78.

Carter’s family found the body in her home along the 300 block of Normandy Road South, and an autopsy two days later confirmed she died of stab wounds.

On April 17, her daughter, Lisa Freihaut, made a public plea for anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Ryan Steph said they’re now seeking a Terry L., described as around 5′ 4″ or 5′ 5″ tall, 250-pounds, with dirty blonde hair that has brown streaks, in her late 20s or 30s and has a tattoo on one of her wrists.

Police say she’s attended a gambling anonymous class, and may have a pink coat in her possession that they are interested in. They believe she may be living in Airdrie.

Sergeant Steph says this information came from tips they received from the public.

Lethbridge Police became aware of her within the past couple of days, and are not certain if the two knew each other. At this time, Terry L. is not believed to be a suspect, but may have information that could help in progressing the case forward.

Anyone with information can contact police at 403-330-5066, Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or online at tipsubmit.com.
