University of Lethbridge launches Lux Hotel

LETHBRIDGE – The University of Lethbridge has given a brand and a name to the school’s summer hotel service.

The services operating out of the Mount Blakiston House residence will now be known as the University of Lethbridge Lux Hotel.

Dominika Wojcik, Assistant Manger of Conferences and Events, said the branding will help the service stand out in the city.

“We were just lost without a name for the last few years that this hotel has actually been running,” she said. “So now we finally have our own brand and our own name so we can actually align ourselves a little bit better with the current hotels in the city.”

The hotel does not generate revenue for the university, but does cover all it’s costs.

“The hotel really serves as a vehicle to open our campus to the community and to really showcase what we offer, which also serves as recruitment for the university,” she said.

The Lux Hotel runs from May to August and will open for the season this Friday.
