Youth in Possession of Firearm Charged with Failing to Comply with Court Order
LETHbRIDGE: A city youth is facing a new charge after he was witnessed with a firearm, while he was under a court order not to have any weapons.
Just before 9:30 Friday morning, two young people were seen walking on Stafford Drive North near the train tracks. One individual was carrying a rifle. The pair were seen entering a business on 2-A Avenue north.
When police arrived, one youth admitted he had the gun and showed officers where he had left it. Police seized the firearm, which turned out to be a Daisy lever action BB gun.
The youth, who can’t be named, had been previously released on a Court Order with conditions not to possess any weapons, firearms, or ammunition. He was charged with failing to comply with the Court Ordered Disposition.
