Bank Robbery Case Remains in Holding Pattern

Feb 5, 2016 | 1:58 PM

LETHBRIDGE: The case against a man accused of robbing banks across Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan, has been adjourned once again.

Shaun Christopher Cornish had the case set over to March 16, with his lawyer saying they’re still looking at their options to move things forward in Alberta, BC or both.

He added that it’s his understanding that the Crown is seeking 11-years for Cornish on the Alberta matters alone.

The spree, which ran from December of 2014 into January of 2015, included nine banks, one of which was in Lethbridge.

On January 13, 2015, around 5:55-PM a male walked into the TD Bank along the 2000 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South, approached the tellers, produced a firearm and demanded cash. He then fled after an undisclosed amount of money was handed over.
