Lethbridge Homeless Documentary Gets 2nd Showing

Feb 7, 2016 | 8:22 AM

A locally filmed documentary is trying to gain as much attention as possible before its official release.

A second screening of “Where is Home” will take place at the Movie Mill on February 10th at 6:15-pm. It’s free to attend, but donations are encouraged, and will be distributed to local organizations.

The film takes a closer look at the homelessness issue in downtown Lethbridge, and the social issues surrounding it.

“The idea came about in October 2013… Martin Heavy Head was running for council, and he was the first aboriginal person to run for council,” noted Filmmaker, Dan Berdusco.

“He thought that the people of Lethbridge need to be more educated on downtown social issues and homeless population, and he was going to write a blog. I read his blog and I was inspired to e-mail him to see if he was interested in doing a short documentary about just that.”

Berdusco has also applied to take part in three of North America’s biggest documentary festivals. He said he should receive final approval by the end of March.
