LETHBRIDGE:    In spite of netting the first goal of the game, the Hurricanes recorded their first over-time loss of the season, and racked up 21 minutes in penalties.

The afternoon game in Edmonton saw the first period go by scoreless.   Canes Captain Tyler Wong opened the scoring at 4:44 into the second period with his 32nd goal of the season, assisted by Brayden Burke and Brady Reagan.  However, the Hurricanes then trailed 2-1 by the end of the period.

The Oil Kings widened the gap with a third goal in the final period.  The Canes then fought back and tied the game up with goals from Ryley Lindgren and Brady Reagan.

Edmonton’s Colton Kehler took advantage of a power play at 2:37 into overtime to make the game winner for the Oil King’s.

Lethbridge and Kelowna are tied for first place in the WHL standings with 79 points each. The Canes take on the Hitmen in Calgary on Sunday.
