Alert Bust Results in Arrest of Seven Suspected Drug Dealers in Medicine Hat

LETHRBIDGE:  A three-month drug trafficking and firearms investigation in Medicine Hat has resulted in seven people are facing a total of 41 drug and firearms-related charges.

Police executed search warrants on Saturday, (Feb 13th) at two homes in Medicine Hat – one on Ranchlands Blvd NE and the other on Somerset Lane SE.

$40,000 worth of drugs were seized along with 2 carbine rifles and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Both of the rifles were recently acquired through fraudulent means and one of the serial numbers had been removed.

The drug seized included: 375 grams of cocaine, 4 grams of heroin– 40 hydromorphine pills, 1 fentanyl pill,  20 grams of cannabis resin, 2 grams of psilocybin, and Cocaine press and packaging materials consistent with drug trafficking.

The seven arrested range in age from 21 to 34 years of age and police say additional charges and arrests are expected. All seven of the accused have been released on bail.
