Library Employees to Reap Benefits of New Agreement

LETHBRIDGE – A new four year agreement ratified between the City of Lethbridge and the Canadian Union of Public Employees will benefit around 70 library employees.

Unionized employees will see a wage increase of 2% retroactive from January 1, 2015 until the end of 2016. There’s another 2.5% increase from 2017 to 2018, and an additional 0.5% on July 1, 2018.

Permanent part and full time employees will also receive a one-time $175 increase to their benefits in 2017.

Casual employees who worked more than 500 hours during 2015 are eligible for a one-time payment of $150, as well.
