Bail Granted to Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting 14-Year Old

LETHBRIDGE: A 34-year old Lethbridge man accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year old girl has been released on bail.

On November 28, 2015, Lethbridge Police were contacted and informed that the youth had been sexually assaulted. An investigation revealed that she met a 34-year old man at the mall and was later sexually assaulted at a south side residence. The victim knew the man by an alias, but they were not well-acquainted.

As a result of the investigation, Kalvin Freddy Spear Chief was arrested and charged.

While acknowledging that he wouldn’t release Spear Chief into the community on his own, Judge Jerry LeGrandeur agreed to bail under the condition that Spear Chief live with his mother in Cardston. He will only be allowed to leave the home under the supervision of his mother. The bail is set at $3,500, however no cash was required.
