OTTAWA – The Blood Tribe is one of the recipients of new funding from the federal government for new schools.
Indigenous Affairs Minister Carolyn Bennett announced the funding support for nine innovative projects that will result in new schools in over 20 First Nations communities across the country.
These projects will use innovative approaches such as bundling projects and contracts, employing modular and pre-fabricated construction, and using alternative financing measures to build school facilities that meet the needs of First Nation students on reserves.
The Blood Tribe is the only First Nation group in Alberta to receive the funding.
