Blood Donation Challenge to Share Personal Stories

Feb 27, 2016 | 9:32 AM

CANADA – Canadian Blood Services is looking for 20,000 people to take part in its Giving Life Challenge.

The challenge utilizes social media to share personal stories from those who have had to receive blood, or reasons behind donating blood.

Director of Donor Relations, Susan Matsumoto, says Canada is in need of at least 100-thousand new donors to help replace the aging donor population, as well as maintain the stability of the country’s supply.

Due to the recent change in donation rules to protect donations from Zika virus, you’re encouraged to donate before travelling. Those who have not travelled outside of Canada, the continental United States and Europe are also asked to book appointments.
