“Destination Project” Moves Another Big Step Towards Construction

Feb 27, 2016 | 8:30 AM

LETHBRIDGE – The “Destination Project” at the University of Lethbridge could begin construction as early as May following the completed development report on February 25.

The new science and academic building will add value to the community through high school experiences and science outreach for K-to-12 students. It will also support the university in its teaching and research activities.

The development report indicated numerous enhancements.

Included will be minimizing the building’s overall footprint, increased sustainability elements, removal of a new energy centre, co-location of major scientific instruments and maximizing various spaces.

This is the final planning stage, with the structural and building envelope design nearing completion.

Interior design and fit out will move forward as construction proceeds.
