Majority of Lethbridgians Oppose Province’s Planned Carbon Tax, Support Coal Phase-Out
LETHBRIDGE: A new study by Lethbridge College claims the majority of residents have clear feelings about certain Provincial Environment Policies.
Students interviewed approximately 830 residents during a four day period in early February.
The study illustrates that 56.6% of respondents are opposed to the Alberta Government’s plan to introduce a carbon tax by 2017 with over 34% “strongly” against the environmental measure.
Over 81% of local Wildrose supporters and 72% of Progressive Conservatives in Lethbridge strongly disagree with the move.
