Victim Impact Statement Entered in Sexual Assault Case Against Former Teacher
LETHBRIDGE: The mother for one of the boys who was sexually assaulted by a former Raymond elementary school teacher, read her victim impact statement Friday morning in court.
While sentencing won’t happen until next month, she was allowed to enter her statement early as she will be out of the country for the hearing.
The woman, who cannot be identified to protect the identity of her child, stated that because of what Jamey Brian Kristian did to her son, he can no longer trust men and feels “tremendously guilty” for something he had no control over. She admitted feeling awful for not asking questions about what was going on sooner, adding, “This will haunt me for the rest of my life.”
Kristian pleaded guilty to charges of sexual assault, sexual interference, child pornography, and voyeurism last September.
