ALBERTA – Volunteers will be recognized next week with a special emphasis on those in the healthcare field.
During National Volunteer Week, which runs April 10-16, all facilities in AHS South Zone will be thanking volunteers for their contributions, supporting patients, residents, family and staff.
Last year over 16,000 volunteers donated their time throughout Southern Alberta, helping with everything from getting patients active, to providing mealtime assistance, to supporting staff in laboratories, diagnostic imaging, nursing units and pre-op assessments.
National Volunteer Week began in 1943 to focus attention on the home-front contributions of women during the Second World War.
