Parents Encouraged to Attend Internet Safety Presentation
LETHBRIDGE – Parents of school-aged children are encouraged to attend an internet safety presentation on Tuesday night.
The session will take place at the Yates Theatre from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Lethbridge Police School Resource Officers will provide information on trending apps, laws that relate to the internet, and online safety tips. There will also be a question and answer period.
These officers see first-hand the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to the internet and social media and there is rarely a day that goes by that they aren’t dealing with some sort of an issue. Teens and young children are able to access the internet 24/7 and in some cases know more about the online world than their parents. Children of all ages are very proficient online, so it’s important for parents to understand social networking tools, know what their children are doing online and talk openly with them about internet safety.
