Police and Lawyers to Educate on Legal System for Law Day 2016
LETHBRIDGE – Lethbridge Police and Canadian Border Services will once again be hosting its annual Law Day.
The free, family-friendly event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 23 at the Lethbridge Courthouse. It’s used to teach the public all about Canada’s legal system and commemorate the signing of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
It will feature courthouse tours, K-9 and CSI demonstrations, Kidz Korner and Citizenship Court. The big highlight will be a fantasy Stars Wars themed trial, with Her Majesty the Queen versus Yoda.
Lethbridge Legal Guidance will also be there hosting its annual “Ask a Lawyer” event. Volunteers lawyers will provide half hour sessions on all areas of the law.
