AHS Offers Food Handling Courses to Avoid Food-Borne Illnesses

SOUTHERN ALBERTA – Alberta Health Services will be offering critical safe food handling courses over the next month.

Organizers of community events where food will be served have to notify AHS Environmental Public Health at least 30 days before the event. Similarly, food vendors must also provide notification within 14 days if they plan to provide food at such events.

The course will educate those volunteers and groups about the potential health risks associated with food-borne illnesses, as well as steps to reduce those risks.

Space is limited, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis:

LETHBRIDGE (May 25 or June 22)

– 9-am to noon
– Lethbridge Community Health Centre, Education Room A132

MEDICINE HAT (May 31 or June 23)

– May 31 – 1-pm to 4-pm ; June 23 – 9-am to noon
