City Looking to Fast Track Funding for Metis Trail and Whoop-Up Drive
LETHBRIDGE – As the Crossings development draws closer to completion, the city is looking for ways to speed up the timeline for funding to improve traffic flow to the area.
The plan is to develop and connect Metis Trail and finish twinning Whoop-Up Drive.
Infrastructure Services Manager Richard Brummund, noted that it’s just a matter of getting the money in place.
“Metis Trail is at 70-per cent design and Whoop-Up is around 95-per cent design,” explained Brummund. “We’re hoping by the end of June that both will be designed, then we’ll have some good cost estimates and from there of course look for some available funding and council approval and then we can start the projects.”
