LETHBRIDGE – A 28-year old Lethbridge woman charged with second degree murder, made a brief court appearance Thursday morning.

Jessica Lee Ann Praill is accused of killing her mother, after 54-year old Shelley Kristine Praill was fatally stabbed at a north side home on April 28, 2016.

That night around 9:40-pm, police were called to a report that a woman had been stabbed at a home along the 2300 block of 18 Street North. She was found inside the home and sent to the Chinook Regional Hospital, where she died a short time later.

An autopsy confirmed she died as a result of a stab wound.

Thursday (June 16) in court, Praill’s lawyer stated that they still haven’t received any disclosure from the Crown, and asked for an adjournment.

The case will return to court July 5.
