Overnight Assaults Result in Four Men Being Pepper sprayed.

LETHBRIDGE:  Police are investigating multiple early morning assaults involving pepper spray.

Between 12:20 a.m. and 2:58 a.m. on Thursday (June 30th) police were called to four assault reports involving men who were sprayed in the face with pepper spray. Two of the incidents occurred near the 300 block of Stafford Drive North, one near the 400 block of 5 Street South and the other in the alley along the 200 block of 1st Avenue South.

In three of the cases, the victims were confronted by a group of men who were unknown to them and in the fourth case the victim was confronted and assaulted by a man he knew. 

In all cases the suspects fled the area before police arrivedl and officers were not able to locate them.   

While none of the victims were seriously injured, two were taken to hospital to be decontaminated, one was treated by EMS and the other fled the scene before police or EMS arrived. 

Police have identified one of the suspects, who is believed to be responsible for all four assaults. However, that suspect has not yet been apprehended.
