United Way Partners To Gather For AGM

Jul 25, 2016 | 11:48 AM

LETHBRIDGE – The United Way of Lethbridge & South Western Alberta gave grants to 22 organizations in the Lethbridge region last year.

Connolly Tate-Mitchell, Marketing & Communications Coordinator with Lethbridge United Way, said that highlights from the previous year will be outlined at the organization’s annual general meeting on Tuesday, July 26.

United Way focuses on pulling together the financial aid and human resources the community needs to improve the day-to-day life of individuals and families.

Tate-Mitchell said that attendees will have the opportunity to meet the United Way team and hear about the status of the organizations going forward.

“The 22 organizations we supported last year in the Lethbridge region, ran 24 programs that supported over 20,000 people from about 28 communities. Moving forward, we’re anticipating something similar this year.”

A new Executive Director will be introduced in the meeting.

Any person, business or corporation who has made an annual contribution to United Way in 2016 and is not an employee or director of a United Way partner agency is eligible to vote at the AGM.

The meeting takes place at 10 a.m. in the Culver City Room at Lethbridge City Hall.
