Potential Postal Stoppage Could Impact City Bill Payments

Aug 26, 2016 | 1:02 PM

LETHBRIDGE – The threat of a work stoppage at Canada Post has prompted the City of Lethbridge to ask residents to not send payments through the mail.

You are asked to use alternative methods to cover utility bills, as late payment fees will not be waived.

Payment options include:
– In person at City Hall, 910-4 Aveue South, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. business days. Cash, cheques and debit are accepted.
– Deposit boxes at the City Hall-front entrance; Fritz Sick Centre, 420-11 Street South; Stan Siwik Pool, 1901-15 Avenue North; Yates Memorial Centre, 1002-4 Avenue South; Nicholas Sheran Pool, 401 Laval Boulevard West
– Online banking – allow 2-3 business days for processing
– In person at banks and most other financial institutions

The City will hand deliver your monthly invoices if necessary, and anyone who doesn’t receive one should call Utility Customer Care at 403-320-3111 or sign in to their eUtility account.

Those already set up for pre-authorized payments will not be impacted.
