Possible Jason Kenney Opponent Challenges his ‘Unite the Right’ Intent
EDMONTON – A potential candidate for the leadership of Alberta’s Progressive Conservatives says rules adopted by the party should end the bid by Calgary M-P Jason Kenney to merge the province’s two right-of-centre parties.
Sandra Jansen says the rules forbid any leadership candidate from taking actions that would harm the party.
She says if Kenney’s goal is to collapse the Tory party, then he doesn’t fit the criteria.
Kenney hasn’t commented yet on the leadership race rules but is running on a platform to merge the P-Cs with the Opposition Wildrose and create a new right-of-centre party.
