United Way Launches 75th Annual Fundraising Campaign
LETHBRIDGE – Uniting force, strength and community was the message Monday morning, as The United Way of Lethbridge and South Western Alberta’s kick started their 75th Annual Fundraising Campaign.
The charitable organization, which helps with everything from job layoffs to social support, held a reception and flag raising for an audience of local contributors.
The Kinsmen Club of Lethbridge stepped up as the first donor for the campaign and presented a cheque for $40,000.
“We found that a donation of this size is the best way to hit the most organizations and help the most people in the most effective and efficient manner,” Blair Foster, President of Lethbridge Kinsmen Club said. “The United Way is basically a clearing house for donations. We can donate our money and know confidently that it’s going to go out to those who need it through the allocations process.”
