Hurricanes close out Pre-season with Loss to Calgary

CROWSNEST PASS –   The Lethbridge Hurricanes wrapped their pre-season with two wins and four losses, after dropping a 6-2 decision to the Calgary Hitmen in the Crowsnest Pass Friday night.

The Canes’ Colten Kroeker opened the scoring on a power play, 47 seconds into the first. Calgary’s Justin Gurney evened the score on a penalty shot in the closing moments of the period.

The Hitmen added two goals in the second ahead of the Canes’ Zane Franklin netting a power play goal near the end of the period, with assists from Ryley Lindgren and Jordy Bellerive.

The third period was owned by the Hitmen who planted three more goals.

Hurricanes goalie Brandon Kegler faced 30 shots, while Calgary’s Cody Porter turned aside 16 of 18 shots on goal.

The Hurricanes open their regular season against rival Medicine Hat next Friday (Sept 23rd) night at 7:00.
