LETHBRIDGE – The Lethbridge Police Service has launched an investigation following a brief standoff with an individual in a west side neighbourhood on Sunday (Oct. 2).

Police responded to Chilcotin Crescent West after receiving reports of a male who was possibly suffering from a mental health crisis.

They were informed that he may have had access to firearms, so they established a perimeter around the property and informed neighbouring residents to stay inside their homes for their safety.

After a short period of time the male came out of the residence on his own and was taken into custody without incident.
