Error could send some byelection voters to wrong location

GATINEAU, Quebec — Elections Canada is apologizing, and blaming a printing error for some voter information cards in the upcoming Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner byelection that could send voters to the wrong place to vote.

To ensure that everyone has the correct information, everyone in the riding is being sent a new information card, which will be clearly marked with the words “Replacement Card.” The mailout should be complete by Wednesday, Oct. 12.

The agency said anyone can also find out where to vote by entering their postal code on the Elections Canada website, or by phone.

There are six candidates on the ballot, including Kayne Cooper of the Rhinoceros Party, Libertarian Sheldon Johnston, Conservative Glen Motz, Stan Sakamoto of the Liberals, Rod Taylor of Christian Heritage, and the NDP’s Beverly Ann Waege.
