Year-over-year new home construction continues to lag behind last year
LETHBRIDGE – A slight increase in multi-family home starts last month helped bump up new home starts for September in Lethbridge. However, the year-to-date numbers paint a picture of continued new home construction decline.
There were a combined 63 single and multi-family new home starts in the city last month, compared to 58 in September of 2015.
However, year-to-date, there have been 480 new home starts compared to 663 during the first three-quarters of last year.
It’s a small consolation but, Lethbridge isn’t alone with the drop in new home construction.
