LETHBRIDGE – The Hurricanes have made a trade ahead of their game Friday, Oct. 28 against Prince George.

The team has sent a seventh-round draft pick to Calgary in exchange for 17-year-old defenceman Ty Prefontaine. Prefontaine has played in 11 Western Hockey League games, eight of those with the Hitmen. This season he has one assist and four penalty minutes, with a plus/minus rating of -2.

The Saskatoon product was originally drafted by the Prince Albert Raiders in 2014.

Prefontaine was expected to be in the lineup for the Hurricanes against the Cougars at the Enmax Centre. The team hopes to snap a five-game losing skid.
