Canes Close In Shots, But Face Tough Loss To Prince George

LETHBRIDGE – The Hurricanes lost a close one by a final score of 2-1 against the WHL leading Prince George Cougars at The Enmax Center on Oct. 28.

In the first period, the Cougars were able to sneak one past goalie Stuart Skinner, 1-0 but the Canes quickly tied the game back up with Giorgio Estephan dumping the puck in the net.

However, Prince George was able to take a 2-1 lead with 1:37 left in the first period.

Both teams snagged two power plays in the second period, with PG acquiring three penalties in the third period.

Shooting was neck and neck with the Canes slightly ahead with 29 to P.G’s 28.

Since their last win on October 12 against Victoria, the club has surrendered 28 goals and only managed nine of their own in six games.

The loss brings the Hurricanes record to 5-7-1-1.

The Canes will face another hot team, The Red Deer Rebels for another home game on October 29 at 7 p.m..
