22nd anniversary for Operation Red Nose in 2016
LETHBRIDGE – As the holiday season quickly approaches, Pronghorn Athletics will be stepping up to help reduce the number of drinking and driving incidents with their annual “Operation Red Nose” campaign.
Starting Friday night (Nov. 25), those who feel like they have had a little too much can phone and be driven home in their own vehicle by a team of Red Nose volunteers.
The service is by donation and funds raised will go directly towards the University of Lethbridge Pronghorn Athletics.
Eoin Colquhoun, Pronghorn’s communications manager, says that in 21 years, Operation Red Nose has provided 993 rides with help from more than 550 volunteers. It’s also raised more than $646,000 for U of L sports teams.
