No room for Stampeders’ touchdown horse at Grey Cup
The Canadian Football League has told the Calgary Stampeders that their touchdown horse will not be allowed to gallop down the sidelines at this Sunday’s Grey Cup game at Toronto’s BMO Field.
A rider carrying the team’s flag charges down the sidelines at McMahon Stadium aboard Quick Six whenever the Stamps score a touchdown, but the league has told the club there isn’t enough room at the venue to safely accommodate them.
Quick Six was also kept out of the 2012 Grey Cup game in Toronto when the club was told the horse would not be welcome inside Rogers Centre.
The Ottawa Redblacks have also been told their Algonquin Loggersports Team, which cuts off a chunk of log following a touchdown, cannot buzz the field at BMO on Sunday.
