Promising Forecast For Southern Alberta Toruism
LETHBRIDGE – Chinook Country Tourism Association (CCTA) is expecting to see a rise in domestic and international travelers in southern Alberta.
Nikolaus Wyslouzil, CCTA executive director, says that if the 2016 trend continues, local attractions can expect anywhere from three to 15 per cent increases in visitations.
“Even our visitor centre has seen a modest two per cent increase over last year’s numbers and our Montana visitors are up about seven per cent.”
He notes that the surge in visitors can be partly credited to the weaker Canadian dollar, prompting Canadians to travel domestically and take advantage of national parks.
