Rock out New Year’s Eve with Exhibition Park and Trooper

LETHBRIDGE – The wait is almost over to experience the revamped New Year’s Eve celebrations at Lethbridge’s Exhibition Park!
In place of the annual Family Fest, classic Canadian rock band Trooper will headline Rockfest at the Ex in the North Pavilion on Saturday (Dec. 31). Festivities will also include a late lunch, New Year’s countdown and Fast Times as the opening act.
“Our audiences have been going down. People change. Families stay maybe at home more on New Year’s Eve, depending on what day it is,” marketing manager Doug Kryzanowski said. “The flip side of that was, this is a Saturday night party.”
He said there had come to be too much familiarity between Family Fest and the newer Children’s Family Festival. So the two will be brought together into one festival on May 6. Kryzanowski said there will be more details to come on that event, which has the potential to be bigger than in past years.
