Southwestern Alberta communities to receive nearly $4.9 million in funding
LETHBRIDGE – More than half a dozen communities including Lethbridge, Pincher Creek and Cardston, will benefit from the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
Calgary-Skyview MP Darshan Kang was in Lethbridge to make the announcement on behalf of Federal Innovation, Science and Economic Development Minister, Navdeep Bains.
“In the spirit of this visit, I’m pleased to announce the Government of Canada will invest $4,899,327 for projects in celebration of Canada’s 150th year of Confederation.”
$3.5 million dollars of that money will go towards renovating the Genevieve Yates Memorial Theatre as announced by Lethbridge City Council last November.
