Future uncertain for Lethbridge water tower restaurants

Jan 28, 2017 | 9:50 AM

LETHBRIGE –  It appears as though two restaurants located in Lethbridge’s iconic water tower are closing soon. While it hasn’t been officially announced yet, a message on both the Cut and Char Chophouse and Rogue Facebook pages  appears to be from the page’s administrator and reads, ” Sales in the restaurant(s) have been extremely slow over the last few months and we are currently looking at all our options to move forward. More information will be available at a later date.”

The tower is owned by Douglas J. Bergen and Associates. The Architechtural company bought and restored it in the year 2000 at a cost of $2 million.

It’s not clear yet why the the restaurants are closing or what those with gift certificates can do.
